About Me
My name is Kenya Lacy, and I still consider myself a New Georgian. I was born in Detroit Michigan and moved to Georgia in the summer of 2011. I join the Alpharetta High School Math Department after teaching for 3 years at Creekside High School in Fairburn GA. This will be the start of my 6t year at Alpharetta HS. I am the Boys Golf Coach and co-sponsor for the AHS Ping Pong Club. I have a strong background in Mathematics, earning my Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan Ann Arbor and my Master of Science in Secondary Education with a concentration in Mathematics from Marygrove College. My classroom management style revolves around the theme of “respect and open communication.” In our classroom, students respect each other and are encouraged to consider different world perspectives. We must communicate our ideas with each other without the fear of judgment. I have high expectations of both my students and myself, and I work to differentiate my classroom instruction in order to challenge all of my students to meet their highest potential. I believe that students will be most successful with the support and collaboration of parents, administrators, teachers, and peers, and I feel blessed to be able to watch my students grow each semester. Please do not hesitate to email me with questions, concerns, and most of all- celebrations! I look forward to working with you this year! Go Raiders!
